I had some person comment on the style of art I am currently doing; saying that they were rubbish and not true art anyway!
There was a time when I would find this comment hurtful and get angry and try and justify myself. Not any more! Told the person that they were really for me and if anyone likes them that was great. I use them as a virtual journal of the weird and wonderful things i imagine, not as a way of getting approval or likes.

Has anyone else had experiences like this? And how did you handle it?

Working on a collage, and keep adding and deleting the same element! It has to be just right.......which is annoying the crud out of me!

Rebirth

It has been a lovely start to the weekend, in a way I feel reborn and renewed.
As some of you are aware I have been dealing with cancer for the last several years and it has been a draining and insidious disease.I started to withdraw from doing things I loved as well as from people. I think in a way to protect them and myself.
I got the re-staging results back on Thursday and they were incredible. The scan could find no trace of tumours at all. They are still there and I will have to keep on with Chemotherapy but I have a future now....and am rearing to let loose all my creative urges!
My family and friends have been there all the way and it is because of them that I am starting anew. Work collegues have become friends, and now family! My family...I can't actually begin to find the words to describe them!
Look at your life, family and friends and hold it tight.

Collages

Have been making a lot of surreal digital collages lately and am seriously thinking of printing some of them. A couple would look good framed and someone suggested I get them printed as an art book! What do you think? The perennial artists question Are they good enough?"
Making this sort of art takes my mind of things and helps with depression...there is something about losing your self in an image you are creating. This is especially true for this week which has been awful to say the least!
If no one gets bored with these images I will keep posting them and would love to hear how you interpret them! Usually I have no clue!!
